In the past year, fitness gear makers have struggled to grow in demand for their products, even as they’ve gained popularity.
But now a new product could help them compete more directly with the likes of Fitbit and Adidas.
“The Ironman is a new fitness tracking device,” says Jason Nitzsch, founder of Fit Fitbit.
“It is designed to be a fitness tracking app that’s going to be used by thousands of people across the world.”
Fitbit is one of the first companies to offer a fitness tracker that can track your steps, miles, calories burned, heart rate and oxygen consumption.
And the company has just launched a fitness watch that will allow users to track their daily steps and exercise logs in a sleek, streamlined package.
The Ironman also offers an in-built gym, a treadmill, and a cardio trainer.
But it’s also the first fitness device that can be worn on your wrist.
Fitbit CEO and co-founder John Hanke says the Ironman will be “one of the biggest opportunities for Fitbit, and we’re excited to partner with Ironman.”
But the Ironmans most interesting feature is its battery.
Fitbits batteries can last up to two weeks, while the IronMan will last up 30 days.
It will also come with a GPS sensor that will help it know when you’ve run out of juice.
FitBit also has a fitness app that it will sell to third-party developers.
“If you’ve ever used any of our products before, you’re going to have a much better experience with Ironmans battery life,” Hanke told Recode.
Fitbot, a startup that started out as a fitness company, is also partnering with Iron Man to create a fitness training app that will let users train for an Ironman without spending money.
The company’s CEO, Chris Hulbert, says he’s excited about the new Ironman fitness tracker because it will be a good way to help Fitbit improve the company’s products.
“Our goal with Ironmachines battery is to make it so that people who are not using the device can still train with it,” Hulberts comments.
“We’re building a smartwatch that will enable people to use Ironmans batteries for exercise.”
Ironman comes with a range of accessories, including a water bottle, headphones, and gloves.
The device will cost $99.99, which is $60 more than Fitbit’s fitness tracker.
The other major competitor, Nike’s FuelBand, has been a favorite of many people who use their fitness trackers to track steps, calories, and distance, and is available in two models.
It also has an optional heart rate monitor that can provide more detailed data on your health.
Fitbuds, which launched in the fall of 2016, offer a similar fitness tracking platform, but offer an extra feature: they also include a heart rate sensor that can help users track their heart rate during exercise.
The new Ironmans hardware is expected to be available this year for around $150.
Fit and Iron are also partners with Fitbit on a fitness shoe, and they have a partnership with the popular fitness brand, the Yeezy, which will ship a pair of the Ironmats to users who preorder a Fitbit device in October.
The Fitbit app is available for iOS and Android.
