The All India Football Federation is set to crown a new champion of the Indian Premier League in 2019 after all the teams played in the inaugural All India Club Championship.
The All India Cricket League and AIFF have agreed to hold the title of champions in 2019, with the league’s chief executive officer S.S. Jayasuriya, the chairman of the board of directors, the President of India AIFF, and other key officials meeting to decide the format of the tournament and the winner.
While the title is to be given to the All-India Club Championship, it will be a separate tournament, as well as a semi-final and final, which are scheduled to be played in Delhi in March 2019.
The winners of both semi-finals will be declared champions of the India AIFC.
The semi-finals and final will be played on the same date as the tournament.
The semi-end of the season, which is scheduled to start on October 31, will also be used for the award of the championship to the winners.
The winners of the 2019 All India League Championship will be announced at a function of the AIFF in November, with India A and AIFI chairman Nirmala Sitharaman also holding a press conference to announce the winners at the function.
There has been speculation that India A would go on to play the Champions Trophy, where the winner will receive the title for India, which has yet to be announced.
The tournament was the first time a semi final or final has been played between the two sides since the IPL began in 2016.
It has also been the first such tournament to feature the two top-ranked teams in each league, AIFF and AICC.
