Fitbit is shutting down the Galaxy Fit app on the Google Play Store, citing a “potential safety issue.”
The Fitbit app is available on Android, Apple, iOS, Windows Phone, Blackberry, Android TV and Roku.
The Galaxy Fit will remain available on the Fitbit website for a limited time.
Fitbit said that while the Galaxy fit app has been downloaded about 9 million times, it was unable to detect that there was a potential safety issue and shut down the app.
The company said that it has contacted users about the issue and is taking steps to ensure that this does not happen again.
Fitbits Fitbit Charge HR and Fitbit Flex Fit are now available for purchase through Amazon and Apple.
